Comparing Different Types of Trailers - Conclusion
One similarity is all of the trailers have a release date, though this is quite vague with a teaser, a specific date with a theatrical trailer and something like 'In Cinemas Now' or a particular day with a TV Spot.
A Theatrical Trailer usually lasts a maximum of two and a half minutes and is normally distributed two to three months before the film comes out. A TV Spot usually lasts a maximum of thirty seconds and is usually shown in advert breaks, in the week building up to a film's release. A TV spot is full of rapidly edited exciting action moments from a film (or 'eye candy').
A Teaser Trailer is usually between a minute and a minute and a half. A Teaser Trailer is normally six to nine months before the film comes out, and contains very little narrative information.
