Analysing Conventions of Film Posters I - 'The Dark Knight Rises' and 'Another Round'
As part of my film marketing campaign I will be creating a poster to help advertise my film. I am going to look at a range of posters from films of different genres to see if there are some consistent conventions found on posters as a form of media. Later, once I have decided my genre, I will look more closely at posters from that genre to see if these conventions change, or are adpted, because of the genre's influence.

- names of stars (surnames underneath Christian names, in capitals)
- title of the film (largest font on the page)
- billing block/credits (towards the bottom of the page)
- certificate/rating (PG13)

- format (IMAX)
- one main image from the film
- reference to genre (through setting and costume)
- reviews and star ratings
- social media links
- title of the film (largest font on the page)
- name of the director (film by Thomas Vinterberg
- production company logo (Studiocanal)
- additional images
- names of stars (surnames underneath, Thomas Vinterberg in capitals)
- certificate/rating (12A)
- billing block
